What Warner Bros/DC Comics Is Planning At Comic-Con In July

WBDCCon1We know that Warner Bros Pictures is way behind Marvel Studios when it comes to making movies out of its comic book properties. But I have intel on what is coming up at this July’s  Comic-Con from the studio. A lot of stuff remains in flux  but my sources have so far:

May 2016 – Batman v Superman
July 2016 – Shazam
Xmas 2016 – Sandman
May 2017 – Justice League
July 2017 – Wonder Woman
Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2

There had been talk of a Metal Men and Suicide Squad movie for sometime in 2016 but that project fell off the schedule.

GreenLanternRyanMeanwhile, if you were wondering why Batman v Superman was delayed, it wasn’t the script or Ben Affleck or Jesse Eisenberg but with the fact that this pic will act as a launching pad for the Justice League. According to my source, "Like Marvel’s The Avengers, there will be cameos of superheroes for future installments. The cameos will include the already known Cyborg and Flash. Green Lantern [not played by Ryan Reynolds, thank god] may be introduced.  And Aquaman will be seen in the Justice League movie. Problem is, Warner Bros Pictures was still negotiating with the actors for those cameos and future roles, meaning major contracts for multiple JL/character films to follow. The studio didn’t want to move forward until they had more of this secure so they held off starting production for a few months. Seemingly simple reason, but the implications are pretty darn huge."

  1. Seriously- is this what H wood has been reduced to? Hey- let’s go to the comic book store so we can find our next script & blockbuster!!! woo. hoo.

  2. There is no Metal Man and Suicide Squad movie. Those are two distinct different properties – The Metal Men is one and The Suicide Squad is another. Hey Nikki, if you want someone to help you with background info on comics and properties in that realm, I’m free labor!

  3. It is tricky to esteem family office databases so that is the thing that we needed to compose an article on – to give you some direction focused around our information on the most proficient method to do this. Here are things to search for that radically change the estimation of a FO database:for more information..http://www.latestdatabase.com

  12. Guys, I think Cavill won’t stay on in the role after JL when his contract is up. He’ll be 35 when JL comes out and would be 40ish for JL2 or MOS2 3 years later. 40ish doesn’t work for Superman. Batman is different and Ironman because they wear "masks". WB would have to recast the role for JL2 with the studio waiting to see how the new actor is received before going ahead with another solo. It’ll probably be mid 2020s before another Superman film is made.

  13. I’ve heard a rumor that Martian Manhunter is going to be in Justice League. Plus Maxwell Lord. Is there any truth to that? If so it is going to be great seeing Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter & Cyborg. That eight member team is going to be Awesome.

  14. DC comics characters do have their problems in films, but these problems are soley of their own making . While I think it unfair to assign a single reason for it putting these iconic Brands on life support, the results suggest a myriad of mistakes on the part of virtually everyone involved (okay, probably not the script supervisor’s fault, per se. She’s really just the director’s mistress) But there is plenty of blame to assign cleanly else-where . Not the least of which is misunderstanding that the *characters* are the Brand…not the stars playing them . That…and some really bad writing. I’m not sure if the writers they hire just can’t write the genre or if the editors and directors screw up what is submitted to them. Bottom line: if they want the films to be succsessful, then they need to hire comic books guys to write the stories and *then* be smart enough to leave the storyline alone . Bruce Timm and his team from multiple animated series know how to write the stories and produce the product. If DC-hollywood doesn’t want their franchises to slide into extinction, they would do well to start with the people who write this stuff for a living . And for heaven’s sake do a better job iof casting!! Affleck?…Galdot?…really? Clearly its time to ban alcohol and weed from the casting directors lounge.

  16. Except for MOS2 most of Nikki’s list seems to be likely. MOS didn’t make enough money and pundits are doubting it. Making fun of MOS and asking why WB would make more. The Superman franchise is dead it seems for a long time to come.

    1. You are retarded. LMAO go to a comic on and see how many Superman shirts there are. Ask any non-geek to name a superhero and what will they say? Spider-man, Superman and Batman. They are the top three.

    2. Its really not that hard to imagine that Superman’s profile will only grow as a result of BVS and JUSTICE LEAGUE and a stand alone sequel could reasonably be expected to get a Justice League bump the same way Ironman,Thor and Captain America did from The Avengers over at Marvel. MOS may have generated some heat from the critics and didn’t reach a billion dollars in BO,but its take was still greater then all the phase one Marvel films and the majority (a slim one granted) of critics liked the movie which did much better in regards to audience reaction. Superman is a global brand and its unrealistic the character won’t get another solo shot down the road since he will be the center of the plot for BVS and the leader of the Justice League. That fact makes Superman with his rich cinematic history, a safer and surer risk for WB as a solo film then Wonder Woman,Shazam or the Flash/Green Lantern team up. Only a solo Batman film is a safer risk for the studio then Superman. If Ironman could come off Ironman 2 with a good showing in The Avengers and go on to make a billion dollars with a solo film a year later, theres noting saying Superman can’t get the same boost from BVS and Justice League in his next solo film.

    3. It’s always weird to read people say that certain movies didn’t clear "enough money". First it was said with MOS, and now I’m recently hearing it with ASM2. You realize that both films A) made over $700M, and B) served as the catalyst to move their franchises forward, yes? S exactly how much money would have been considered "enough"? This is like the craze in the 00′s with Hip-Hop; a rapper’s album went "wod", if they didn’t go double-platinum the first week it was out. What a weird, and over inflated idea for success. :-\
